Jack McNamara Appointed As Artistic Director At New Perspectives Theatre Company

New Perspectives, the East Midlands leading touring theatre company is delighted to announce the appointment of Jack McNamara as their new Artistic Director.

Jack will follow in the in the footsteps of Daniel Buckroyd who recently left he company to become Artistic Director at The Mercury Theatre, Colchester.

Diana Gilhespy, Chair of New Perspectives board commented:

Jack was a participant on the Young Vic Directors Scheme (2008-09). He has directed such works as Harold Pinterís Betrayal at the Nuffield Theatre, John Retallackís Apples for Company of Angels and has also assistant directed at the RSC. He is also producer and director for Future Ruins Theatre Company whose most recent work Exterminating Angel previewed at The Lowry and Mercury Theatre, Colchester and will play at the Pleasance Courtyard at this yearís Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Other directing credits include Melancholy of Resistance at National Theatre Studio and Altogether Now for Theatre 503.

Jack, who will begin his full time role as Artistic Director in early September said:

I am delighted to take up this hugely exciting opportunity. New Perspectives has a great reputation for creating high quality theatre and Iím thrilled to be leading them in the future.

New Perspectives delivers over 200 performances each year of produced theatre in spaces ranging from village halls and community spaces to 500+ seat theatres. They also manage Northants Touring Arts, the rural touring scheme in Northamptonshire and run Step Up a talent development programme for East Midlands emerging theatre makers.

On April 1st 2012 the company became one of Arts Council Englandís NPO companies, with funding secured to deliver our exciting vision and programme of work until 2015.
