will be at Holy Trinity Church Guildford from Monday 4 February for a three week season to Saturday 23 February. The press performance is on Wednesday 6 February at 7.00pm.

The cast is led by Tom McGovern (Macbeth). Other cast include Johanne Murdock (Lady Macbeth), Noel White (Banquo), Robert Maskell (Duncan/Porter), Matt Pinches (Donalblain). It is directed by Caroline Devlin, fight director Philip d’Orléans, with design by Sarah Bacon, lighting by Declan Randall, and sound by Matt Eaton.

Holy Trinity celebrates its 250th anniversary this year and is the largest Georgian Church in Surrey.

Tom McGovern has played many classic lead roles in productions directed by Kenny Ireland at the Royal Lyceum Edinburgh, Dominic Hill Citizens’ Theatre Glasgow and David McVicar, Traverse. Most notable were as Shylock in ‘The Merchant of Venice’, as Hamlet, Orsino in ‘Twelfth Night’, and Macbeth. Director Caroline Devlin was Lady Macduff in the Kenny Ireland/Royal Lyceum production of ‘Macbeth’. She recently directed ‘Richard III’, ‘A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream’ and ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’ for the Guildford Shakespeare Company. She was in Arnold Wesker’s ‘Roots’ with Denise Black at the Royal Exchange in 2008. Philip d’Orléans has been fight director with the Royal Opera House, the English National Opera and with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Sarah Bacon has recently designed for English Touring Opera and for Wexford Festival ‘L’Aresiana’ 2012. Declan Randall’s recent lighting design credits include ‘Porgy and Bess’ Cape Town Opera at the Coliseum and UK tour and Wexford Festival Opera 60th Anniversary season. Johanne Murdock has recently played Mistress Page in ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’ and Gertrude in ‘Hamlet’ directed by Caroline Devlin for GSC. Noel White played King Lear directed by Dominic Hill at the Orange Tree and was in Kate Saxon’s production of ‘Far From the Madding Crowd’ ETT.

Matt Pinches and Sarah Gobran are joint Artistic and Executive Producers of Guildford Shakespeare Company which they co-founded in 2006. GSC’s previous site-specific productions include ‘Richard III’ and ‘Hamlet’.
