Co-Opera Co. was founded in 2008 by soprano Kate Flowers and lighting designer Paul Need when they realised that there was a significant gap at the very start of many singers' careers, with very little opportunity for them to work alongside experienced members of the profession. They have toured 7 new productions to 16 venues. The productions were Albert Herring, La Boheme, The Marriage of Figaro, Carmen, The Magic Flute, Hansel and Gretel, Don Giovanni. In 2010 they created the Co-Opera Co. Orchestra - their own orchestra of 15 young professional players.
