A Mercury Young Company adaptation of the classic album by Pete Townshend will be at the Mercury Theatre from 22 to 24 August by arrangement with Eel Pie Publishing Ltd.

There is a cast of over 50 including musicians.

Quadrophenia is set at the height of the Mod era and told through the eyes of Jimmy, a hedonistic, style-conscious teenager, who is looking to find himself - and a girl! Misunderstood by his parents and stuck in a dead-end job, he sets off on a trip to Brighton that will change his life forever.

"Schizophrenic? I'm bleeding Quadrophenic!" - Jimmy

This compelling coming-of-age story is brought to life in Artistic Director’s Daniel Buckroyd's original stage adaptation (2001), with additional material by Kenneth Emson, of the legendary album.

Songs include ‘The Real Me’, ‘Love Reign O’er Me’, ‘Zoot Suit’ and ‘Hi-heel Sneekers’.

The company is cast from the region’s most talented young performers who work with the Mercury’s own professional production team to present this high-octane rock opera. The director is Tony Casement with design by Sara Perks, lighting by Ben Payne, sound by Marcus Christensen and musical director Richard Reeday.
