The Russian Ballet Icons Gala 2015, a grand gala evening dedicated to the story of Russian ballet, will be held on Sunday 8 March 2015 at 7.00pm at the London Coliseum.

30 dancers already confirmed include Natalia Osipova, Kim Kimin, Dorothee Gilbert, Sarah Lamb, Xander Parish, Ekaterina Kondaurova, Alina Cojocaru, Marianela Nuňez and Thiago Soares.

The Russian Ballet Icons Gala will celebrate its 10th anniversary at the London Coliseum produced by Ensemble Productions. Every Gala is a multimedia experience which combines performances by living masters who celebrate the life and art of the greatest performers of the Russian ballet and the importance of the Russian ballet school. 'Flight performed by the soul' is how Alexander Pushkin described Russian ballet, whilst speaking of contemporary ballerina Evdokia Istomina in Eugene Onegin. It was the Russian ballet that was destined to revive the art worldwide by giving the world mesmerising dancers such as Anna Pavlova, Mikhail Fokin, Leonid Myasin, Bronislawa Nijinskaya, Vazlav Nijinsky, and George Balanchine. The sensational Ballets Russes of Sergey Diaghilev remains until today one of the most significant achievements in the ballet history.

The Russian Ballet Icons Gala 2015 will again feature significant excerpts from the Russian classical repertoire and masterpieces by contemporary choreographers influenced by the Russian ballet. The gala will be accompanied by the orchestra of English National Ballet under the direction of Valery Ovsyanikov. The programme will be performed by the world renowned dancers of the Bolshoi, Mariinsky, Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Ballet de l’Opéra de Paris, Staatsballett Berlin, New York City Ballet, Finnish National Ballet and Les Ballets de Monte Carlo.
